What is WIC?
WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children. It is a free program that gives healthy food, help feeding your baby, and family support. The federal government pays for it, so it does not cost you anything.

- A new parent (recently had a baby)
- Breastfeeding
- Caring for a baby or child under age 5
You also need to live in the state where you apply and meet the income rules. If you get SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF, you meet the income rules automatically.
What do you get?
- Money on a card for healthy foods
- Help and tips for feeding your baby, including breastfeeding support
- Checkups to make sure your child is growing well
- Connections to other help in your area
